Video for merging two .KST files

Post by Chelsea4023 »

Hi, I have purchased various bits of software for my PA5X and I currently need to merge two pieces of software (.KST files). One is the full backup of my PA5X with the toolkit software on it (done by Paul Carmen of Keyboard World) and the other piece of software that has been created by Timur at Global Sounds.se. (Artists Edition 3.0).
I would like to have my full backup as the first .KST file loaded into P.A.Manager and then try and merge Global Sounds .KST into it.
Do you have any videos or pdf instructions to show how this is done. I did find a video that showed how to merge two sets on a PA4X.
Any assistance you can give would be greatly appreciated as I'm not too good at the technical side of things. I am aware that there is currently an issue with using P.A.Manager with a PA5X loaded with O/S 1.4.0.
Chris
p.s. I would think that merging two or more .KST files would be quite common on the PA5X, so I am optimistic that I will find some help on this issue.

Hi Chris,

Merging 2 KSTs is exactly the same as merging 2 SETs.
You would initially load the Global Sound SET in to the KST Manager. Once that's loaded, click on the 'COPY from another KST' button and load in the Toolkit KST.
Then you can start copying from the Right side (toolkit set) to the left (global artist)

Hi,
Apologies for saying this, but I thought I would have to do this the other way round. I have been working on toolkit for months making adjustments to settings. It also has the full backup including midi settings and all my personal keyboard sets whereas Global Sounds Artists Edition 3.0 is just that. Would it not be sensible to copy Global Sounds Artists Edition into the existing Toolkit.KST that I use everyday ? Could you give a reason why you suggest merging the sets the other way round ?
This is a perfect example of why a video showing how to merge two .KST files is required.
Chris

p.s. I'm sorry for the way Korg have messed you around over the O/S 1.4.0 issue. I find that Korg are a very poor company to deal with, and was on the verge of taking them to the Small Claims Court at one time. They seem to treat their Customer base with contempt, and I think some PA5X owners forget that it's taken three years to get to this stage with the O/S. Hopefully we can now move forward.

Hi Crhis,

There's no particular order really. You can freely do it the other way round if you like.
Start off with Toolkit and then copy from Global Artist.

Unfortunately, Korg are being pretty miserable with communication really. But we just need to move on.
