KORG PA5X OS 1.4 [WARNING] [RESOLVED]

Wouldn't it have been nice if KORG had provided us with an early BETA of OS 1.4?
Instead, they've chosen to remain silent in their own little world…

Had we received early access, KORG PA Manager could have been fully updated in time for the release.

Unfortunately, OS 1.4 introduces significant changes to the file format, which means that KORG PA Manager is currently not compatible with OS 1.4.

Please do NOT use or save any SETs with OS 1.4 until we release an update to support it — otherwise you risk compatibility issues or data loss.

It beggars belief that the representatives of Korg PA Manager would be excluded from beta testing O/S 1.4.0.
I have watched over the last three years as Korg has gone from a close competitor to Yamaha in the world of
keyboard arrangers to ending up a very long way behind. although I am not a fan of the Genos 2, it is miles
ahead in terms of stability. In the two years I have had my PA5X, it has been back to Korg Headquarters at
milton Keynes twice, once to have all the LED's replaced and a second time to have a new circuit board
replaced after the whole left hand side of the PA5X stopped working. I totally regret buying it, but have no option
but to keep it due to the money I have lost on it. When it works correctly O/S glitches aside, it's a fantastic piece
of kit.

Hi Chris,

It has taken KORG over 9 months to prepare this new OS.
10 days in comparison to match the changes is quite minimal. Especially when it's August and everyone is on holiday!

But anyhow, there is good progress. Update should be quite soon.

Apologies if I came across as complaining. I did not mean to.
I was just asking as I am currently merging sets.
I have always made a point when Posting on Forums to say that PA Manager could teach Korg
valuable lessons on how to produce stable software.
I have never ever found fault with PA Manager software. More explanatory videos and a manual
would be my only additions.

I completely agree that more explanatory videos and a detailed manual would be super helpful additions. Hopefully, those resources will come in the future to make things even smoother for everyone.

Hopefully, support for OS 1.4 is just around the corner.
