Not enough sound slots ? [RESOLVED]

Hello, I just tried to put several sets together using the pa manager v5. Suddenly the message came that there were not enough user sound slots available. What sense does it make to be able to create an “infinite” number of folders and styles and then there aren’t enough user slots available? why isn't it possible to expand user slots? Is this the case with the Korg operating system, or will there be a button to expand sound slots for the PA manager in the future?

Hi,

This has nothing to do with PA Manager.
The Keyboard itself only supports up to 128 slots per Bank!

hi, thank you very much for the information! Then it is not possible to load several different sets into the keyboard. a bit strange, since style banks can be created "infinitely" but these cannot be assigned styles because sound slots/banks are limited. Let's see, maybe Korg will change that with the next update...

@PAmusiker, you can combine multiple sets, but you are limited in the user area to 768 sounds and 384 drum kits (look at Specifications page). Korg limited the number of LSB, in my opinion, while on Yamaha the number of LSBs are 128, as you can import 128 different sets, but also with the limitation of number of waves (samples number) and 3GB of available RAM memory on both Genos 1 and Genos 2.

These two big brands put things differently.

For example in Yamaha on each set (pack) you can have 128 Drumkits AND 128 normal voices. Each set will take a place in the range from 0 to 127 of the LSB. That being said, you can have one pack with 256 voices and drums on LSB 0, the second with 256 voices and drums on LSB 1, and so on. You can adjust the position of each pack on the table and automatically all content which uses the voices in that pack will be changed automatically to the new location.
Here in Korg there are some User banks on User area, some of them for normal voices and some of them for drumkits. I think each User number represents a LSB in the table, for the normal voices with some MSB and for the drumkits with another MSB.

BTW, in Korg they simply display directly as ControlChange (CC) 0 and 32, 0 for MSB and 32 for LSB. In Yamaha they display also MSB and LSB text in editors.
